VOLUNTEER
Volunteers From Abroad
Siam-Care offers youth and adults who wish to volunteer their gifts and time with helping opportunities. The foundation typically takes one long-term volunteer at time for its locations, so placements are subject to availability.
Roles involve visiting families, children, schools, and prisoners that Siam-Care serves. Volunteers also contribute to office administrative tasks, and may travel to the other Siam-Care bases in Thailand. Groups are welcome to participate in children’s camps.

Local Volunteers
Bangkok residents who wish to volunteer with Siam-Care are encouraged to inquire. Administrative assistance is always needed and opportunities to teach English are occasionally available. Volunteers may visit Siam-Care’s other locations, and are also appreciated for translation assistance.

SPONSOR A CHILD OR FAMILY
Educational Child Sponsorship
Siam-Care believes that children, our most defenseless demographic, are often affected most for reasons in which they were uninvolved. Parents who suffered from HIV/AIDS often leave children orphaned, many of who carry the disease themselves. Grandparents, who should be receiving their own care, struggle to raise children of a completely different generation. And even if the parents are still living and healthy enough to care for their children, the financial, emotional, and social weight of HIV/AIDS is often too overwhelming. But it is more than just HIV/AIDS that affects these families; Migrant workers create single-parents homes, broken families, and extreme poverty. With the stress of illness and little to no income, children are pushed to earn money as soon as possible, abolishing any schooling opportunities. A child’s future is drastically limited without an education. Siam-Care knows the majority of relatives and guardian caretakers are themselves uneducated, so realizing its importance and overcoming the obstacles of apathy and opposition are critical. Siam-Care works to provide families with educational sponsorships to relieve the considerable financial burden of school.
A child sponsorship is a multi-level support system that includes:
• Ample financial support
• Reliable and extensive support, counsel, and guidance from Siam-Care’s staff
• Regular health examinations
• Schooling advice and assistance
• Individual assessment of circumstances or difficulties
• Family counsel to better relationships and increase caretaker understanding
• Opportunity to attend events and camps
• Full-time education

Family Sponsorship
Thousands of Thai families are affected daily by HIV/AIDS or severe poverty. Parents often leave home in search of work, or are too ill to provide for their loved ones. These circumstances gravely hinder stable family relationships, and ultimately spawn broken homes.
Through Siam-Care’s holistic homecare approach, families are provided with:
• Regular home visits from the Siam-Care staff
• Participation in classes and peer-support meetings
• Counseling services
• Access to medication
• Material necessities
• Hope for a better future
